What is Inverted Bucket Steam Trap ?
Inverted Bucket Steam Trap is one of the mechanical steam trap types. The task of this steam trap is to evacuate the condensate from the steam line and keep the steam in the system in order to prevent the condensate from reducing the heat transfer by mixing with the saturated steam and to ensure maximum heat transfer.
Inverted Bucket Steam Traps work according to the density difference of steam and condensate and they discharge continuously and do not leak steam during discharge.
Working Principle of Inverted Bucket Steam Trap
Its operation is based on the principle of difference in density of steam and condensate .
Inverted Bucket Steam Trap Operation.
Inverted Bucket Steam Trap is the inverted bucket that acts as a float. These traps use an inverted bucket as a float device to control the opening and closing of the plug and seat to discharge condensate. If water starts to enter the bucket, the bucket will sink and open the outlet. The condensate is replaced by steam and the steam trap closes again and the process repeats.
Application areas of Inverted Bucket Steam Trap
- Heat Exchangers
- Heater Units
- High Pressure Applications
- Vulcanization Devices
- Laundry Equipment
- Main Fuel Tank Heaters
- Steam and Condensate Lines
Advantages of the Inverted Bucket Steam Trap / What is the difference between inverted bucket and float steam trap?
- Inverted Bucket Traps have a very durable design;
- They are not affected by water hammer.
- It discharges condensate as soon as it is formed.
